The Bible describes Christians as "sojourners" and "foreigners." While Christians are commanded to be good and honorable citizens, ultimately we belong to a different kingdom. We have different values, goals, and priorities. All of that can sometimes put us at odds with the world around us, and Christians can quickly find themselves in situations where the pressure to conform is intense. The letter of First Peter was written to instruct believers on living in a world that isn't their true home.
